Vleeskuikenhouder gaat van Orion® naar Fortica® systeem

Vleeskuikenhouder Ramon Harmes uit het Drentse Klazienaveen is dit jaar overgegaan van het Orion® systeem naar het vernieuwde touch screen Fortica® systeem. Kosse staltechnieken werkt al 25 jaar samen met de familie Harmes en heeft de installaties gemaakt in deze stallen. Harmes had 4 vleeskuikenstallen, maar heeft er inmiddels twee afgebroken en twee splinternieuwe stallen neergezet met het innovatieve nieuwe Fortica® systeem. Twee bestaande stallen zijn blijven staan en zijn omgebouwd naar de Fortica®. Naast deze stallen zijn er nog twee grote stallen in aanbouw. In totaal gaat het bedrijf 248.500 vleeskuikens huisvesten, waar de eendagskuikens 6 tot 8 weken gehouden worden. Het doel is om een duurzaam pluimveebedrijf te realiseren. Zo wordt er stroom opgewekt via zonnepanelen en zullen de stallen verwarmd worden met energie die vrijkomt bij mestverbranding.

Het ventilatiesysteem van de nieuwe stallen bestaat uit een combinatie van een warmtewisselaar en lengteventilatie. De ventilatie is gebaseerd op onderdruk in de stal waarbij, via inlaatventielen in de zijgevels, verse lucht van buiten naar binnen wordt gelaten. De stallucht wordt uitgeblazen door ventilatie kokers op het dak. Alle ventilatie- en verwarmingssystemen worden centraal via het gebruiksvriendelijke Fortica® systeem geregeld.

Er wordt ook gebruik gemaakt van automatische voer- en waterverstrekking. De Fortica-FWS zorgt voor de juiste hoeveelheid voer in de stallen in combinatie met de Hotraco FWS-4N voerweger. Ook wordt er energie zuinige LED verlichting toegepast om het productieproces optimaal te laten verlopen.

Om een goed overzicht te krijgen over de 6 vleeskuikenstallen is er in het kantoor van vleeskuikenhouder Harmes een Fortlink® geïnstalleerd. Deze zorgt voor een veilige verbinding tussen enerzijds alle Fortica’s in het bedrijf en anderzijds tussen een externe router waarmee de connectie met WIFI en internet wordt gelegd. De Fortlink® verzamelt de data van alle aangesloten stallen, maakt dit visueel in een groot scherm en geeft dit door aan de aangesloten PC of via internet naar de app. Dat laatste zorgt ervoor dat de vleeskuikenhouder alle Fortica’s kan bedienen en uitlezen met de PC, of via de Fortica-App met tablet of smartphone.

This year broiler farmer Ramon Harmes of Klazienaveen in the province of Drenthe (NL) has upgraded from the ORION® system to the new touch screen Fortica® system. The broiler house systems were installed by poultry house automation specialist Kosse Staltechnieken, which the Harmes family has relied on for the past 25 years. The Harmes had four broiler houses, but they recently razed two to make room for two brand ones with the innovative new Fortica® system. The other two barns are still in use and have been converted to Fortica®. Two additional large broiler houses are currently being built. In total, the agricultural enterprise will have space to house 248,500 broilers, with the day-old chicks being held 6 to 8 weeks. The goal is transformation into a sustainable poultry farm. In keeping with this plan, electricity is generated by solar panels and the barns will be heated with energy produced by burning manure.

The ventilation system for the new barns consists of a combination of a heat exchanger and cross-flow ventilation. The ventilation is based on negative pressure in the barn, with fresh air from the outside entering through inlets in the side walls. The barn air is exhausted through ventilation stacks on the roof. All the ventilation and heating systems are centrally controlled via the user-friendly Fortica® system.

Automatic feed and water delivery are also used. The Fortica-FWS, in combination with the Hotraco FWS-4N feed weigher, provides the right amount of feed in the barns. The production process is further optimised with energy-efficient LED lighting.

To maintain a good overview of the six broiler houses a Fortlink® is installed in broiler farmer Harmes’ office. This establishes a secure connection between all the Forticas on the farm on one side and an external router, which provides Wi-Fi and internet access, on the other. The Fortlink® collects data from all the connected barns, displays it on a large screen and forwards it to a connected PC or the app via the internet. The latter makes it possible for the broiler farmer to control and read out all the Forticas from a PC or, via the Fortica app, from a tablet or smartphone.
